SEDATION DENTAL

A comfortable experience at North Sydney Dental Implants

North Sydney Dental Implants offer a range of sedation options to be administered by Dr Marc Logarta, a trained anesthesiologist, before your dental implants surgery. To ensure your comfort you will be sedated whilst Dr David Jones completes the dental implant surgery.

Dr David Jones and the team will talk you through all the sedation options during your treatment plan discussion. It is recommended that you have someone drive you to and from practice on the day of your surgery.

I.V. Sedation

Intravenous (I.V.) Sedation is administered through a vein to induce a highly relaxed or sleep-like state. This is a conscious sedation option meaning you will still be awake but less aware of what is happening during the surgery.

Your surgery will go by in what feel like minutes. You will not feel anything or remember most of the surgery when you 'wake-up'.

After the surgery, you will experience some grogginess so it's best to have someone pick you up from the practice.

General Anaesthetic

General Anesthetic is a type of sedation that will induce an unconscious state. Similar to I.V sedation the drugs are usually administered via a vein in the arm but can also be an inhalable gas. Once administered you will quickly fall asleep and the surgery will begin.

You may require some recovery time in the practice post surgery and will need someone to pick you up from the practice.

Not all sedation options are suitable for every patient. Please consult with Dr David Jones, Dr Marc Logarta, and your local GP before undergoing surgery. If all the above sedation options are not suitable for you Dr Jones and his team will discuss potential alternatives.
