During this consultation we get to know you and discover what you’re looking to achieve. You’ll sit down with Dr Jones to talk about your lifestyle and any issues you might be having with your teeth and mouth.

After an assessment of your mouth and dental records (if unavailable new records may need to be taken), Dr Jones will start to talk to you about the treatment options available to you including price, possible timelines and potential benefits to you.

 

Don’t worry, this isn’t your final treatment plan and you don’t have to make a final decision on the day. Dr Jones will carefully analyse the information he has gathered and develop a full treatment plan for your next consultation with him.

Your second consultation is about your treatment plan. By this time Dr Jones will have a developed a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. He’ll walk you through every step from pre-op to recovery and aftercare so that you are comfortable and aware of all the details of your treatment.

Dr Jones will also discuss payment options and give you time to ask as many questions as you like. Prior to this appointment we do ask that you please complete the New Patient Information Form.

You’ve made the decision to go ahead with the treatment and it’s almost time to start the implant surgery. Before Dr Jones can place the implants, we need to perform some pre-op exams.

 

Depending on your needs this can include a hygiene exam, extra radiographs and x-rays, or additional assessments to perfect your new smile. These additional exams and appointments will be detailed in your treatment plan and Dr Jones will explain exactly what is involved.

Dr David Jones will perform your surgery accompanied by his anesthesiologist and dental nurse. The implants and the provisional bridge will be placed allowing you to eat almost immediately, and an OPG will be taken to start monitoring your progress from Day 0.

The implant surgery can take 4 to 8 hours to complete depending on the patient's unique situation. Dr Jones will discuss this with you in more detail prior to your surgery. We recommend allowing 4 days out of your normal schedule for the surgery and recovery. After surgery, we encourage you to contact Dr Jones and the team with any questions or concerns you may have about your new smile.

 

This initial prosthesis will last for approximately 12 months. Dr David Jones and the North Sydney Dental Implants team will outline your recovery period and the date of your fixed prosthesis in your treatment plan.

After your surgery we want to ensure you’re completely happy with your new smile. Reviews with Dr David Jones and the North Sydney Dental Implants team will be scheduled at 2 weeks, 1 month, and 3 months post-surgery.

During these reviews, Dr Jones will perform a comprehensive examination of your overall mouth. He will check the health of your mouth and the healing progress of your implants.

Depending on your treatment plan Dr Jones may recommend additional reviews to check your progress.

Your immediate bridge is placed to allow your body to accept your new implants and fully heal. After 12 months Dr David Jones will place your final prosthesis (bridge). These last between 5 and 10 years and are made from stronger, more durable materials.

This surgery will be quicker than your initial All-on-4® or All-on-More Surgery. Dr Jones will first remove your initial prosthesis before assessing and cleaning your implants. He will then carefully position your new premium/platinum prosthesis on your implants.

Just like you’re natural teeth, your new smile needs regular maintenance to keep it looking and feeling good. It’s not just about checking if your implants are still healthy, Dr Jones needs to see your progress and loves learning about the difference your new smile has made.

We recommend visiting us every 6 months for an examination, clean and maintenance appointment. Dr Jones will remove the bridge, check your implants, and provide a comprehensive check-up of your whole mouth.
